16 Sep Exploring Halloween’s artistic magic with Bing Image Creator and AI
In this blog post, we explored two primary artistic styles or techniques, all within the Halloween theme.
THE HALLOWEEN INSPIRATION
Halloween is slowly creeping up. It is a common sight to find artefacts associated with the festival around us in shops and supermarkets. The iconic orange of pumpkins, dark colours of costumes and the characteristic spookiness, served as the catalyst for creating these dramatic images, all crafted using the versatile Microsoft Image Creator, powered by the magic of DALL.E.
The text prompt for the image creation, included, amongst other things:
- Art styles like Stippling and Pointillism
- Colours, including orange and charcoal
- Various other elements associated with Halloween, such as witches, pumpkins and hats.
ART TECHNIQUES
Stippling: This technique involves creating an image using dots of varying sizes and densities. For these images, it contributed to adding a depth and a roughness of texture.
Pointillism: Similar to Stippling, Pointillism relies on small dots or points to form an image.
The images create a powerful visual narrative. Thanks to AI, individuals who aren’t artists can now bring their ideas to life with greater ease than ever before.
IMAGE EDITING
For our featured witch with long, flowing hair, we harnessed the power of image editing software, Paint Shop Pro. With precision, we selected the witch’s face originally generated by the Image Creator. Then, we applied a ‘kaleidoscope’ effect to the selection, intensifying the element of mystery.
The original size of the images, created by Bing Image Creator, was 1024*1024 px. All the images were resized to 1100*1100 px, to maintain consistency with the theme of the website.
Enjoy!

They were checked using Google lens (https://lens.google.com/) for exact matches. Although none were found, close approximations are inevitable given the popularity of the theme, i.e., Halloween.
